#10-Metro 2033

My time with Metro 2033 was kind of a lengthy one. I had to constantly pace myself, check ammo, check my gas mask, and check my pants cause this game scared the shit out of me. You take the role of Artyom, an apocalypse survivor in Russia, and the game revolves around metro tunnels or little cities(due to the fucking apocalypse outside). The air is toxic above ground, it's a frozen wasteland and yeah, there are mutated hell beasts. Well, these little baddies, big baddies, and the flying ones made for some of the most tense moments in a game since I played Dead Space. The over all pay off was great, but the story falters here and there and some of the game play was flawed. The game plays like a dumbed down Half-Life, not in terms of story but in game play. I found myself struggling with the shooting more than I should have, but other than that I really enjoyed the rest of the game's mechanics. I liked ammo being used as money, oxygen being scarce, and having the feeling that every bullet counts. There were parts of the game where I found myself with no ammo and only a knife to fight off a few large packs of rat demon babies. Metro 2033 is a very good game and I give 4A Games huge props. If you haven't played Metro go out and get a copy.
